Cindy Tong is a ceramic artist living and working in Sale. With a background in graphic design spanning over a decade, she brings an eye for detail to her ceramic practice. Though she only discovered pottery six years ago, it quickly became her passion, evolving from a hobby into a full-time pursuit.

Drawing inspiration from the intricate patterns of nature, Cindy’s work explores the delicate details and hidden depths found in natural forms, from foliage to geological structures. This fascination with nature’s nuances is evident as she seamlessly transitions between abstract compositions and her interpretive renderings of Australian flora.

 In addition to her gallery collections, Cindy crafts small-batch functional ware designed for everyday use. Whether it’s a handcrafted mug for morning coffee or a delicately glazed bowl for a shared meal, each piece reflects her love for the craft and appreciation for organic textures. She continually experiments with coloured slips and surface techniques to replicate the raw beauty of nature’s imperfections.

 Cindy’s work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions, and her pieces are available for purchase through select art galleries and collectives throughout Gippsland.
